2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE Review
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE – The Sidewinder L-TX SE is a smaller and cheaper version of the Sidewinder LE, but it is not less equipped.
Efficient and long-lasting, the ARCS front suspension with Fox® RC adjustable shocks leads the charge. It features longer, lightweight forged spindles and optimized geometry for better handling.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE

A 137″ Ripsaw II track wrapped around the free‑arm, coupled SRV rear suspension with HPG shocks hooks up the industry’s most powerful engine.
The race-bred chassis holds you forward, at the ready to take on anything the trail throws your way. This car’s appearance is racy and aggressive with a minimal, shorty wind deflector and hot, high-impact graphics.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE Features
998 Genesis Turbo Engine
The 998 Genesis Turbo Engine delivers a power unmatched by any other. All a Vehicle’s components, from the intake to the exhaust, are dedicated to a truck’s uncompromised performance so that you can have the respect and reputation as the industry’s highest achiever.
High-Performance Clutch System
The YSRC primary and secondary roller clutches are calibrated for safe, smooth operation. This lightweight racing belt is made of the most refined mesh and can be used in just about any weather condition.
The high-strength carbon fiber webbing provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The roller-secondary in the primary shift is aggressive and quick to the back-shift to provide extra gear.
Engine Braking Reduction System
The 4-stroke’ engine braking’ technique when the throttle valves are closed has a significant impact on handling and ride character—developed a unique system that employs the ISC circuit and ECU map that utilizes throttle valve movement and RPM information to reduce negative intake pressure during deceleration.
ARCS Front Suspension
The ARCS front suspension features strong forged alloy spindles and lightweight A-arms. Dressed for the snow, tire chains, and a little snow in the air, the Dodge started to feel a little more at home.
The Sidewinder L-TX SE handles much more consistently and predictably than its predecessor. The L-TX SE offers noticeably less body roll, thus giving you the edge you need to take corners confidently.
Dual Shock SR Rear Suspension
The sturdy Dual Shock SR rear suspension offers premium bump compliance with excellent resistance to bottoming.
The Dual Shock SR is a ‘coupled’ skid-frame that utilizes a unique ‘sliding’ front arm mount with half an inch of movement at the front arm ‘slot.’
This creatively designed active arm system delivers controlled ski-lift during acceleration while retaining a good measure of independent front arm tracking.
The solid rear axle layout with its unique idler wheel design and configuration provides the car with excellent durability.
Shock Package
The Special Edition comes with premium Fox Zero RC front shock absorbers with adjustable coil springs and a wide range of damping adjustments.
These shocks include advanced Fox FIST ice scraper technology, state-of-the-art velocity-sensitive damping, and high-quality hard chrome rods with T6 anodized 1.5″ bodies. The shock that carries out the rear duties on the frame is the beefier 2.0 aluminum HPG shock.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE Comfort
Stealth Control System
The handlebar controls feature a left-sided switch cluster for “on-the-fly” access to the multi-step hand and thumb warm adjusters.
The right side of the bars is home to a battery indicator light and a two-stage mechanical/electronic shifter that is close to the brake levers.
The pedals have a push-button reverse gear shift and a multi-function gauge that displays information quickly with a convenient toggle.
Jutting from the right-hand side of the handlebar, an ergonomically shaped throttle lever cuddles up nicely with a simple, stand-alone emergency stop switch.
Hayes ́s newest Stealth brake cylinder comes with a composite brake lever that offers a light feel and powerful stopping performance.
Tapered Tunnel Design
The Sidewinder’s lightweight, two-section, tapered tunnel improves foot comfort and overall riding position over long distances.
At the same time, the reinforced running board is perforated with aggressive boot-holding serrations that offer excellent snow evacuation to keep your feet where you want them to be.
Handlebar-Controlled Digital Gauge
The digital gauge is fully featured and easy to read. The digital gauge displays all of your vital information, including speed, fuel level, trip mileage, tach, elevation, temperatures, and more.
Many people can easily switch between the features they use most with the toggle switch on the left handlebar.
Push-Button Reverse
With just the push of your thumb, While we all need a warning beeper, it is always good to have a way to be constantly reminded of what gear we are in.
Whether you need to park and go in reverse or going from reverse to drive, the servo motor and audible warning beeper make the process simple and consistent.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE Performances
High Tech Turbo
A nickel alloy turbine body is solid and precise yet still able to withstand high temperatures. The Inconel turbine blade assembly is a very light and robust part which yields a low moment of inertia for lightning-quick response to the exhaust gas input.
In today’s heavy-duty engine sector, single and double throttle bodies are now replaced with triple throttle bodies for their ability to deliver and send compressed air quicker to the intake valves.
Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit
This motorcycle is susceptible to your needs. To determine a more precise fuel and ignition timing, the Yamaha developed Mitsubishi ECU relies on a series of 9 sensors that monitor everything from the engine’s speed, engine temperature, coolant temperature, intake air temperature, and the amount of throttle you’re applying.
It relies on its memory map, determined by a predetermined memory map that will adjust ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air pressure, and turbo boost pressure to produce maximum performance under any condition.
Triple Throttle Body Induction
Each of the three different throttle bodies on the Yamaha Genesis turbo engine works together to create a quick engine response.
There is no lag at the beginning of the engine’s acceleration, giving you instant and steady power when you need it. This is something you don’t see in any other production turbo on the planet.
Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV)
Yamaha has developed a new type of turbocharger that blows the air back into the intake side of the compressor. This innovation prevents the compressor from having a surge and maintains the impeller speed.
Liquid Cooled Turbo Body
When the engine shuts down, The heat-inducing solution at the turbo head keeps circulating without a coolant pump which allows the engine to maintain its high temperature without an engine cool down cycle. All while improving the durability of the turbo components.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX SE handling
Centralized Mass Design
The SRV chassis layout was engineered to reduce torque steer. The ability to have a low-set weight is what makes the 100X so unique and fun to use.
Lightweight Rigid SRV Chassis
The SRV chassis provides riders with an effective balance, centered on the rider, by combining a lightweight aluminum construction with a neutrally-balanced triangulated structure. Easily the best material for constructing the outer frame, these pieces are vital without being heavy.
RipSaw II Track
This thing delivers the best performance on snow and mud.
Stryke Single Keel Ski
The single keel design of the Yamaha ski means that it can take a beating with steering and will still maintain precision handling.
The uniqueness of material distribution enhances the steering response. The special shim pad assembly adjusts the carbide pressure point in conjunction with the rubber saddle block.
Thin spacers are located on each ski axle, and you can use them to adjust the overall ski stance and level the skis if necessary.
Over-the-Engine Steering
The straight steering post is configured over the engine. It connects to a single bell crank for simplicity and a lightweight, which minimizes free-play in the steering system and delivers a tight turning radius.
