2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX LE Features
Genesis Turbo Engine
The 998 Genesis Turbo Engine is unmatched in terms of producing exceptional power. Every engine component from intake to exhaust is dedicated to delivering uncompromising performance, earning respect and reputation as the industry with the highest achievements.
YSRC High-Performance Clutch System Clutch
Primary and secondary YSRC rollers are calibrated for long-lasting and cold operation. They efficiently utilize and transfer the ample torque generated by the Genesis Turbo to the track while minimizing drive belt wear.
The primer shifts out aggressively to use all the power. At the same time, the secondary roller quickly shifts backward and provides an additional ratio through the grain beam that is too large for continuous acceleration.
ARCS Front Suspension
Arcs front suspension features a high, strong forging alloy spindle and a lightweight, redesigned upper A-arm.
Revised for optimal suspension function and improved ground clearance, the L-TX LE Sidewinder has more predictable handling and is consistent with fewer chassis rollers.
Shock Fox Zero QS3-R Kashima Package
Fox Zero QS3-R offers simple and effective 3-way attenuation tuning for compression and rebound settings for easy dial travel.
These premium shocks also include a special Kashima coating for more excellent wear resistance than other hard-anodized coatings.
It also gives them lubricating properties that reduce friction between the alloy parts and seals. This results in a smoother suspension feel and unmatched durability.
To further increase durability, ice scrapers are used to prevent moisture from entering the shock body.
Dual Shock Rear Suspension
The lightweight Dual Shock SR offers premium impact compliance with excellent base resistance. Dual Shock SR is a skid-frame “attached” that uses a unique “sliding” front arm mount with half an inch movement in the front arm “slot.” Good independent front arm tracking size. Rugged rear axle layout with dedicated idler wheel design and configuration provides exceptional durability.
RipSaw II track 137″ x 1.25″
Considered the best high-performance terrain track available, Ripsaw II’s 129″ x 1.25″ lug design provides the outstanding acceleration, braking control, and handling in various track conditions.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX LE Comfort
Tunnel design
Tapered Tunnel two-part sidewinder light and pointed gives you strength for long distances and tapered “fitting” to improve foot comfort and overall driving position.
The reinforced running board is perforated with aggressive boot retaining gears and offers excellent snow evacuation to keep your feet where you want them.
Heated Trail Seats
Standard heated seats provide the best warmth and comfort even on the coldest winter days. A simple flip of the dashboard-mounted switch lets you choose from two warmth settings that let you explore what’s behind the next curve from sunrise to sunset in complete comfort.
Stealth control system
The handlebars feature a left-hand switch cluster that allows ‘on the fly access to multi-step hand and thumb warmers.
The information available on the multi-function meter can be easily selected with a convenient switch, and the push-button gear switch is also located in the left cluster.
The right side of the blade is clean with an ergonomically shaped throttle lever and a simple stand-alone emergency stop switch.
Hayes ‘ Stealth’ brake cylinders are equipped with composite brake levers that provide excellent modulation for better taste and strong stop performance.
Push-Button Reverse
The comfortable position of the handlebars makes moving to and from the back easy simply by pressing your thumb.
The servo motor shifts the drivetrain to a consistent and straightforward reverse. Audible warning beeps remind you while you’re still backing down.
20 Inch Tunnel Bag
The bag provides additional storage under the comfortable seat. The semi-rigid design makes it easily accessible and waterproof to keep your parts safe and dry. A quarter-turn quick release fast fastener is provided for easy removal.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX LE Performance
High Tech Turbo
Able to withstand very high temperatures, the nickel alloy turbine body is robust and precise. Powered by premium ceramic ball bearings, the Inconel turbine blade assembly is extraordinarily light and strong, resulting in a moment of low inertia for lightning-fast response to exhaust gas inputs.
Three throttle bodies are used exclusively to further improve the rapid delivery of compressed air from the impeller to the intake valve.
Mitsubishi Electronic Control Unit
The Mitsubishi ECU developed by Yamaha uses a series of 9 sensors to collect running condition data to calculate a predetermined memory map that will adjust ignition time, fuel delivery, manifold air pressure, and turbo boost pressure to deliver maximum performance under any conditions.
Induction Triple Throttle Body
Yamaha Genesis turbo engine intake system uses three separate throttle bodies positioned very close to the intake valve to create a fast engine response with little or no lag. This is something not seen on other turbo productions on the planet.
Electronic Air Bypass Valve (ABV)
Unlike conventional turbo blow-off valves, the Yamaha ABV redirects air pressure back to the compressor intake side preventing surges and maintaining impeller speed.
Double Piston Braking
Piston brake calipers double apply direct braking force to the drive shaft with a wave-style lightweight drill rotor. The LE unique rotor removes 1 pound of rotating mass from the vehicle driveline, transferring all available Sidewinder horsepower to snow.
Stealth master cylinders and composite Stealth brake levers offer excellent modulation and ergonomically precise operation.
Liquid Cooled Turbo Body
When the engine is off, the convection energy generated by the super-hot coolant on the turbo head continues to circulate without the cooling pump operating, which eliminates the need for the engine’s cooling cycle while maintaining the turbo components.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX LE Handling
Centralized Bulk Design
The SRV chassis layout is designed to concentrate mass. About 60% of the sled weight is tightly centered inside the main triangulation for fast handling, a balanced sled that is fun to throw in various conditions.
Lightweight SRV Chassis
The SRV chassis combines a load-holding triangular structure with a lightweight aluminum construction to create a neutrally balanced sled centered on the rider. The pyramid-shaped upper frame builds chassis strength without overload.
Stryke Single Keel Ski
Yamaha’s design, single keel skiing, provides an elusive balance between light steering effort and precise handling in various snow conditions.
The unique and staggered carbide further enhances the steering response. Special shim bearing assemblies work in conjunction with rubber saddle blocks to adjust carbide pressure points.
The overall ski position can also be adjusted by moving the thick spacer on each ski axle to the opposite side.
Pole Over-the-Engine Steering
Straight steering is configured on top of the engine and connected to a single bell crank for simplicity and lightweight that minimizes free play in the steering system and results in a tight turning radius.
2023 Yamaha Sidewinder L-TX LE Price Starting at $17,999.
